PayPal 5th Avenue

Hazel Village Holiday Window

Commissioned by PayPal to spotlight five unique, fair-trade small businesses, Standard Transmission Productions enlisted their team to design and build five entirely different worlds to be displayed during the holidays on 5th Avenue.

With original concepts by art director Julia Moreno, I led the fabrication of the immense Hazel Village window, creating a colorful woodland for the product: handmade, organic stuffed animals with narrative backstories. In addition to mapping out the chiffon ribbon canopy, I designed and fabricated all textile elements making up the forest floor and river.

Hundreds of hand-sewn elements were fabricated to cover this forest floor in abstract mosses, lichen and river water playing with a wide array of color, pattern and texture.

Additional photos of the completed window. Not pictured: every few seconds the lighting would cycle to a warm, pink and orange sunset. Lighting design by Taylor Stanton. Photos below by Justin Sloane.
